I am excited to be back this year in my role as a school social worker at Blowing Rock and Valle Crucis! Since 2006 I have served as a social worker in a variety of roles including: one-on-one with children in the community, case manager for individuals with developmental disabilities, private practice serving adults and children, and most recently before relocating I worked as a social worker in a middle school serving students 6th-8th grade. NC Compulsory Attendance Law

Every parent, guardian, or custodian in this State having charge or control of a child between the ages of seven and sixteen years shall cause the child to attend school continuously for a period equal to the time which the public school to which the child is assigned shall be in session.

*Please be sure to send a note if your child is absent! According to WCS policy you must do this within 3 days of their returning to school.

*If you plan on taking a family trip please complete the travel form 10 school days prior to when your student will be absent.
